The Power of Us

Robert D. Hof has written this really comperehensive article for Business Week, called “The Power of Us“. It summarises the influence of the web’s people power on big business, outlining the ways that businesses are forced to adapt to respond to user pressure, interest and their DYI abilities.
It also investigates imaginative ways that several online companies are using the internet savvy public. Hof describes how users are being employed to strengthen services, hone products and develop models. Companies in this environemnt are forced to give up control. In other words, they need to become OpenBusinesses – or at least more open.
Definately worth a read if you’re looking at the advantages and disadvantages of open business online or you are looking at ways that you can get your users to help you.
