Public Knowledge
Public Knowledge has produced a comprehenisve guide for artists, Creator’s Primer – So What … About Copyright. It focuses on how to understand and deal with copyright issues. The guide covers a massive range of topics from the use of digital images in film making, to authors and derivative works. The site also includes a more general description of what copyright is.
The guide is fairly comprehenive which is a plus, but it really is rather long – 100 pages long. I think the site provides one of the more accessible guides to copyright and copyright issues however it is limited to US law and rather tedious to read but, hey, it is still one of the most accessible guides to copyright that these morons (OB) mhave ever read…

Does anyone know of a comparable guide to UK copyright?
No there isn’t a comparable guide in the UK – best, but not very comprehensive source is at creativecommons.org.uk under FAQ. Such a copyright guide should really exist, however, it would need to be created very carefully and should be shorter and more accessible than the one posted here
