Open Source Cocktail Mixer
Well, okay, its not quite open source, but very cool and shows how business can be done differently. At lazydrinker.com you can learn how to build a digital, programmable cocktail mixer. But of course you could simply order one, instead of building it yourself. This shows some important truth about Openess in business: of course you could cook all your meals yourself, but you go to a restaurant, because of convenience….and this is why I would buy such a cocktail mixer, or actually might do it (if I have the money to spare)

Bingo! There are a lot of things that I could do for myself that I gladly pay someone to do for me. A lot of them I used to do for myself but no longer do, some I do occasionally and pay others to do occasionally, some I used to pay others to do but now I do for myself (mowing if you can believe it;)
Right now, if I could find someone (perhaps in Eastern Europe or in India) to write the programs I dream up (and want to GPL – wow, gpl is now a verb – who woulda thunk it?) I would allot some money each week to it. (I want to outsource myself!!!???)
all the best,
drew
