IndieKarma – a new way to get paid for blogging

Here is a new idea that may get some traction:

The site owners can register their site, and the users can register to contribute 1 cent when they read the site.

The intersting part is that with this model, each user can define how much they can afford to pay for news each month, and just pay that. When they read news, the money gets deducted, but if they have no more budget they can keep reading. A very buddhist approach to subscription, maybe the next payment model for news?
