Google starts offering commercial videos for free

Google Video Free TodayBetaNews and others report that Google has started offering some of its per-pay videos for free in exchange for including advertising. The selection of videos (normally between $0.99 and $4.99) can be found in the new Free Today section. What’s interesting from an open business perspective is that the company is testing whether it can generate more revenue with free, ad-supported content over – if the experiment proves successful, it will be the newest valuable example for the viability of open access.
