Workers Owned and Operated

kommunistenThis could be an exciting way to not only run a business, but also to sustained growth. A direct link between how much pay and what service you get. This is the way the Berlin based “Telekommunisten” are working. The idea is old, but the implementation could be much better and effective in a networked environment. You could dircectly tie service levels into consumer investment. The difference between subsricibing to a service, which in return provides with access to a telephone services, or many other types of services is “directness”. Read about the philosopy below:

Telekommunisten is controlled by it’s workers and committed to staying that way, we believe we can serve our customers best and at the lowest cost by remaining focused on meeting the needs of our employees and customers, not on profits for outside shareholders. Being worker-owned means that all the money you spend on our products goes directly to the maintenance and improvement of the service you receive.

There could many other ways to implement this and if any of the OB readers are aware of any similar models please let us know.
