Open University becomes more Open

OUlogo.jpg The Open University has just opened its OpenLearn service where educational resources are available for free. They completely follow what I’d call ‘remix-philosophy’. They write:”(…) share and reuse educational resources. Download some learning materials, adapt to your needs: translate, shorten, extend, add examples… and then of course, place it back for others to benefit!”

The project is supported by a grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, but the university hopes to attract more students from all over the world through this move. Besides the educational benefits it also seems a smart business move….
