Update II: MiniBar – Registration Closed
UPDATE! We have 130+ registered guests and have closed registration.
We Soon we will get back to OB business and write about good stuff, but for now we are a bit overwhelmed keeping up with MiniBar RSVP’s. So far we have rougly 100 RSVP’s. Thanks for so much interest. And thanks a lot to the guys over at Techcrunch for posting about the event.
Even though I’d say its not “another web 2.0 event”. Yes, there is an element of that, but our goal was to bridge different social spheres. Hence its very cool to have Guardian journalists in the same room with people from Google, OFCOM and Last.fm, and the much talked about new “Tape it of the Internet” site. I always find it boring to see the same people over and over again – the idea of MiniBar is to bring unlikely people together to produce surprising results: OS geeks and entrepreneurs, CC supporters and OFCO etc. How do you learn new things, if you always speak to the same crowd?
So far my feeling is MiniBar will bring new people together. We will also have some surprises to facilitate networking
