Service/product description

openp2pdesign.org is a strategic project for the development of metadesign projects for Open Systems, Open Processes and Open Projects. Metadesign means the design of the design knowledge, tools and processes and openp2pdesign.org is a place for the development of such metadesign projects in order to enable Open and Collaborative Systems through the Open P2P Design methodology. Originating from Service Design, Activity Theory, Action Planning, Open Source and Social Network Analysis, the Open P2P Design is a metadesign methodology for co-designing Open Systems that will generate Open Innovations through self-organization. Such Open Systems focus on a main collaborative activity to be co-designed with a community and can be set up in many different fields (for example: Open Design, Open Government, Enterprise 2.0). Started offline in March 2005 and online in December 2006, since then openp2pdesign.org is studying open collaborative projects and the systems that design them, spreading awareness and knowledge about Open Systems in Italy, Spain, Finland, South Korea and Singapore so far.

What does 'openness' mean in this case?

openp2pdesign.org demonstrates openness using only open source tools and softwares, publishing all the contents under a Creative Commons license and collaborating with other designers and organizations on an open and p2p level. Moreover, the Open P2P Design methodology it develops is aimed at co-designing and enabling Open Systems and it is Open Source itself.
