Co-creation

Service/product description

In our own words, Face is a ‘Co-Creation Planning Agency’… meaning we use co-created ideas and insights to help brands strengthen and develop their strategies and consumer relationship. We believe that people who buy and consume products should be involved in every step of the marketing journey, from idea inception to product launch. We use co-creation to enable the direct and active involvement of consumers with brands to generate better ideas and output.
This approach means we are able to create better insights, product ideas and social media strategies; dramatically speed up the innovation process and radically reduce the cost of new product development.
Using a combination of consumers, brand stake holders and experts in both offline workshops and bespoke online community spaces we use our co-creation process to get the most out of the information and creativity we extract. What does 'openness' mean in this case?

We believe ideas can come from anywhere and that consumers should be treated as active equals rather than as passive respondents in the brand marketing process. By giving consumers more active and direct responsibility we help brands stay much closer to their consumers ever changing needs. Our network of 10,000 co-creators across our co-creation communities, Headbox & Mindbubble sit at the core of everything we do; providing people with the opportunity to get involved in face-to-face co-creation workshops and both online co-creation and crowdsourcing projects. Since 2005 we have pioneered open innovation through co-creation and have co-created with people from all over the world in 11 countries across 4 continents with clients such as Coca-Cola, Axe, Nokia, Boots, Orange, Google, Microsoft, SAB Miller, Danone, Knorr and Ribena. (http://www.facegroup.co.uk/our-work) January 2010 sees the global launch of Axe/Lynx Twist which is a landmark moment as it is the first truly openly innovated Unilever product – (Video case study here – http://bit.ly/5U85W4). Our mission is to find new, open and innovative ways to involve people in everything brands do.
