The Cosmonaut is a crowdfunded feature film which will be distributed through the internet for free with a creative commons license.

The creative commons license and the innovative distribution model (based on a transmedia project and many different platforms such as mobile and events related to an ARG) allows the film to benefit from the wisdom of crowds that are creating derivative work from the materiales produced for the movie and who will distributed and spread it better than any company.

What does 'openness' mean in this case?

They’ve raised over 1450 producers of the film, a huge community on facebook and twitter and got many people to participate with derivative works, music, texts, remixes and mashups of the trailer and collaboration over 6 countries to achieve the goals the film wants to achieve.

All the information related to the movie is completely open: the screenplay draft, the accounts, the process…
